DRAG RACING with SHORT CIRCUIT RACING & KARTING; KILLARNEY – SATURDAY 3 March 2018;
If this years first Drag event was anything to go by, this coming Saturdays MSA Drag racing event promises to be action packed. Adding even more to the attractions will be an IASCA Soundoff competition at the Killarney New Pit facility as well as Short Circuit Racing and Karting on their respective circuits.
This coming Saturday will be the first official round of the 2018 WPMC Club championship, open to WPMC club members and these points will be scored in the bracket racing competition only while the new classes trophies will be awarded for fastest runs of the day. On track action is scheduled to kick off with practice session from 9am and competitive rounds expected to start later in the morning with on track action taking place till late into the afternoon. Pls see attached documentation regarding the 2018 Club rules and event SRs.
The Soundoff competition will be the first event in Cape Town with the new 2018 IASCA rules. This will be an SA record championship event where competitors will compete in order to accumulate points for the IASCA finals. Drag racing entries and competitors info;
Pre entries and Drag section meeting – Wednesday 28 February between 6pm and 8pm (the meeting would start at roughly 7,30pm)
On race day, entries will be held at gate no 1 from 07h30 till 10h00.
Entry fees: R300 per competitor, R190 for WPMC Club member.
All New drag racing competitors are urged to acquire their MSA competition licences before the event as this is a detailed process that needs to be completed accurately.

ALL COMPETITORS ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD A MSA COMPETITION LICENCE, AS BELOW. Only one event licences will be available at documentation, ALL annual licences need to be done online with Motorsport SA.

# Motorsport SA one event licences are available at a cost of R362 per person for CARS and R471 per person for MOTORCYCLES. This includes compulsory accident insurance cover.
FYI – Only club members will be allowed to score points to any championships.
The same medical requirements count for ALL MSA Licences. Therefore ALL competitors 50 and over need to submit a stress ECG for approval before a licence can be issued to them, this cannot be done on the day of the event as the ECG needs to be approved by MSA before the licence can be issued.
Also note; If a competitor answers yes to any of the medical questions we also can’t issue him with a licence on the day. His form would need to be looked at and approved by MSA first.
